Who We Are
Since 1982, Mandell Display Design has helped create hundreds of dance offs, thousands of parties, millions of laughs, and impacted billions of lives.
To create custom decor for clients having events that speak to them and what they envision. To continue to grow creatively while staying on the forefront of design and innovation.
To offer the best crafted, highest quality product available as well as a truly one-of-a kind experience. Ensuring that our client’s vision and personalities are represented in the most important events in their lives.
To employ local artists, use local products, and source out work to local vendors, whenever possible. To be passionate about what we do and aware of our effect on our community and the world we are a part of. We regularly donate our hands, our art, our time and our pocketbooks.
I feel grateful that I get to come to work, doing what I love, every single day. I think what makes us so great is our wide array of talents and our ability to laugh. We laugh a lot.Jenna Urbauer, owner of Mandall Display
Meet our Team
Jenna Urbauer worked for Mandell Display Design for 10 years, when her mentor, and the owner, Barbara Bartley sat her down with an idea. Barb’s hope was to retire in 3 years and in the meantime, teach Jenna everything she knew. They had a plan and after the three most difficult and exciting years of both of their lives, Barb handed the baton to Jenna in October 2016.
Mandell Display Design marched forward, not skipping a beat. Their quality, attention to detail and innovation continue to be what they are known for. Jenna has always had a love for the creative life, this paired with her evenly toned spirit and background in psychology, make her a tremendous leader and the driving force of Mandell.
“I am tasked with the most rewarding job of collaborating with an out-of-this-world team of artists, with the most talented vendors the world has to offer and the most deserving of clients. I am constantly in awe of what we are able to accomplish for our clients and our community.”
Director of Imagination Fabrication
Bryce is our multi-talented superman. He is a wood worker, and electrician, an installer, an artist, a seamstress and a heck of a nice guy. He crawls onto 30′ high trusses and makes itty bitty foamcore letters, both with ease. Bryce will do (just about) anything you ask him to. Greatest of all, he learns from every project, improving and bettering his techniques. He drives 1.5 hours one way to work at Mandell Display Design… so he may be a little sleepy sometimes, but is always there to get every job done.
Dwayne is another longtime loyal Mandellian. Working a mixture of full and part time since 1990, no job is his first rodeo. Dwayne has never been late and has only missed two days of scheduled work. Maybe if you ask him really nice, he will tell you the story. Dwayne is never moody and never without a smile on his face. He paints so much, sometimes he can’t feel his finger tips from the spray paint can. That’s how he earned the nickname “Mr. Tipps”. He installs every job making sure we’ve paid attention to every detail.
In 1999 Susie walked in the door for the first time and picked up the mail on the floor. Susie has gotten the mail every day since then. She knows where everything is in the studio. Even if we haven’t used something in ten years, she remembers where we’re storing it and what it was originally built for. She loads every truck and with her crystal ball, she prepares us for every unforseen situation. She keeps the studio running like a clock. A fun, happy, talented clock.

Although he is a more recent addition to the Mandell family, you would never guess it. From foamcore and floral to baking and antiquing, it seems that there is nothing that Tino can’t do! He is a quick learner and even quicker with his comebacks. Tino always seems to know what he’s doing, and even when he doesn’t, you can be sure that he’ll ask the right questions to figure it out!
Sylvia says yes to every challenge and opportunity thrown her way. She came to us with a talent for display and an eye for design. Sylvia laughs at everyones jokes and is pretty funny in her own right. She tackles every project with a genuine desire to perfect them and completes every job exceeding all expectations. Her presence at every install insures our events are beyond everyones wildest dreams.
CEO of Numbers
How do you keep a bunch of artists organized? I’m not sure, but Kathie knows! Kathie knows everything! She has been the bookkeeper for Mandell Display Design since 1998. She makes sense of a left-brained world to a bunch of right-brained artists. Her humor and pizzazz make every day she is in the studio that much better!
After having much success with her floral business Twig and Berries, Gay has made her way onto our team. She found herself retired and itching for an outlet to use her many talents. That’s when Mandell got lucky! She is our seamstress, our florist, our designer, our mother and our friend. She is the absolute nicest person any of us have ever met. We count our lucky stars that she shares her unique skill set with us.
Commander of the Doodlers
The other half of the Mandellette dream team is the lovely graphic designer Jessica. No matter the day, she can be found with her bubbly personality, big smile, and Starbucks coffee. Ask anyone in the studio and they will tell you how much she brightens up the office. Jessica is a sparkling ray of sunshine that just so happens to also be able to create our clients’s visions into reality .
Executive of Everything
Danny worked for us for a long time, then took a short hiatus. During that time, he saw the world, honed his skills and discovered true love. The ultimately, Dan missed Mandell and returned to us, full time. Since being back, he has picked up right where he left off. He eats slow but moves fast. He is our everything man. His talents, skills and humor keep us in awe and feeling so lucky the universe has made our paths cross once again.
Director of Communications and Kindness
Missy sings, dances, climbs ladders, organizes, paints, and pretty much works her ass off. She graces Mandell by day and slings cocktails by night. We’re not sure she sleeps, but we’re certainly glad she makes time for us. The magic that our clients feel when they walk into an event room that’s ready for guests, is in large part brought to you by the smiles and sprinkles that Missy leaves behind.
